 Job Overview: 
 This role is responsible for performing welding tasks, components, structures, and hardware. 
 Responsibilities and Duties Required:  As an Intermediate Welder for Shapes Precision Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer in the metals industry, you will play a crucial role in our dynamic production team. This position requires a skilled professional with a strong foundation in welding techniques and a commitment to quality and safety. You will be responsible for performing various welding tasks to meet production needs while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship. 
\n -  Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding process specifications. \n
-  Ensure all welds meet or exceed standards for quality and safety. \n
-  Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order. \n
-  Collaborate with the fabrication team to plan and execute complex welding projects. \n
-  Conduct inspections of welds to identify any defects and make necessary adjustments. \n
-  Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective gear. \n
-  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes and techniques. \n
-  Work with welding equipment and other hand tools to assemble components as instructed by Operation Process Sheets. \n
-  Use fixtures to weld components and assemblies. \n
-  Bench & straighten welded parts while maintaining the quality of the weldment. \n
-  Determine weld heat pattern methods and sequences. \n
-  Follow weld schedules and inspect per requirements. \n
-  Operate sizer machines and automatic welder, develop programs, and optimize set-ups. \n
-  Perform welding operations using various welding materials including Inconel, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic materials. \n
-  Develop manual weld schedules to meet customer requirements. \n
-  Weld Inconel, steel, stainless steel, aluminum and exotic materials. \n
-  Recognize, understand, and use the correct fixtures required to build parts. \n
-  Welds must pass X-Ray/Class A. \n
-  Complete documentation accurately and scan on/off shop orders correctly. \n
-  Maintain a clean and safe work environment and contribute to Shapes' 6S program and Lean concepts and initiatives. \n
-  Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions. \n
-  Perform other related duties as required. \n

 Qualifications and Skills Required: \n -  High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in welding preferred. \n
-  Must pass required qualifications test. \n
-  Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding, with proficiency in various welding techniques. \n
-  Certification in welding from a recognized institution is highly desirable. \n
-  Welds must be able to pass X-Ray/Class A. \n
-  Strong understanding of metallurgy and the properties of different metals. \n
-  Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. \n
-  Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. \n
-  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. \n
-  Ability to work independently or in a team environment. \n
-  Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, weld symbols, blueprints and procedures. \n
-  Ability to stay focused, adapt to change, and pay close attention to detail. \n
-  Ability to perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)\n
-  Ability to use various inspection equipment. (Calipers, Micrometers, gage pins and height gages etc.)\n
-  Ability to pass annual eye exam which is required to maintain certifications. \n
-  Ability to multitask and work effectively and efficiently to shop order standards. \n
-  Must be able to communicate and read English proficiently. \n

 Job, Working Conditions and Physical Requirements  Physical Demands: \n -  Must be able to lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times. \n
-  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position and constantly re-position self to perform required tasks. \n
-  May be required to work on slippery and uneven surfaces. \n
-  May be exposed to physical hazards from moving equipment, heavy equipment, and machine parts. \n
-  Specific coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. \n
-  May work in close proximity to others. \n
-  Must wear protective clothing and gear as specified, including (but not limited to) steel toed shoes and protective eyewear. \n

-  Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action. \n

-  High noise levels from operating machines. \n
-  Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. \n
-  Breathing fumes, dust, and mist. \n
