Sleep Medicine Physician at Saint Alphonsus summary:

A Sleep Medicine Physician provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of sleep disorders within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting. The role includes interpreting diagnostic tests, patient education, follow-up care, and clinical coverage responsibilities. This full-time position is part of a large multispecialty health system serving a regional community with advanced medical facilities.

SAMC-Ontario is a Level IV Trauma Center with 50 beds with 4 operating suites plus endoscopy, new laparoscopic equipment, advanced imaging capabilities and award-winning clinical services. With the increasing demand for sleep services, our program continues to develop a regional approach within the Saint Alphonsus Health System. The qualified Physician will show evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities and commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: conduct follow-up evaluations for patients referred for Sleep consultation; follow-through on physician's plan of care; order & interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and labs; prescribe appropriate treatment and conduct patient education; aid in clinic phone triage and referral triage; assist in prescription refills and general clinic coverage when other providers are not in clinic.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Board certified or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment in Sleep Medicine
  • Experience practicing the full spectrum of sleep medicine
  • Ability to obtain: Idaho and Oregon medical licensure; valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho and Oregon Board of Pharmacy and DEA; and granting of privileges at SARMC-Boise, SAMC-Nampa, SAMC-Ontario and SAMC-Baker City as needed
