Salary: $19.95-20.65 per Hour

• Position Description:

The sewing associate operates a variety of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated sewing machines to produce sewn goods that meet both quality and engineering specifications. Position ranges in skill level from entry level through senior level based on equipment the sewer can demonstrate operating effectively:

Entry Level Sewer – operate automated and semi-automated sewing equipment.

Mid-Level Sewer – operate manual sewing equipment.

Senior Level Sewer – operate all sewing equipment for all sewn products.

1.1 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Ability to sew products according to engineering and quality specifications.
• Ability to complete sewing operations within established time standards.
• Ability to utilize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software to enter work order information; input operator, quality, equipment, and downtime information; access engineering documentation, quality information and work instructions.
• Ability to read and understanding engineering documentation, quality information and work instructions.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment to perform job duties.
• Ability to move and transport product from one operation to the next operation.
• Responsible for inspecting material and workmanship from previous operations to quality and engineering specifications.
• Responsible for self-inspection: inspecting material and workmanship of completed work to quality and engineering specifications before passing work on to next operation.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

1.2 Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION requirements

• Required Education or Experience:
• Entry Level Sewer – no experience necessary, on the job training provided.
• Mid-Level Sewer – minimum 3-years of experience operating industrial sewing equipment.
• Senior Level Sewer – experience level requirement demonstrated by completion of in-house training program for sewing equipment and sewn products.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

2.1 Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

• Industrial Sewing Certification preferred.

2.2 Required Skills:

• Computer – ability to learn and operate MES production software.
• Teamwork – ability to work with others supporting Bodypoint’s Values and Principles (Quality, Integrity,

• Self-directed – ability to complete job duties with minimal supervision.
• Mechanical – ability to use tools and equipment to perform job duties.
• Communication – ability to effectively communicate with peers and managers verbally and through

use of MES production software.

• Problem solving – ability to follow standardized processes and how to seek out assistance when issues

arise.

2.3 Physical Activities and Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pulling / pushing, kneeling, twisting, grasping, and walking.
• Moderate moving, transporting and positioning of items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work environment

3.0 Work Location Type:

• Indoor facility, manufacturing environment, location WA State.
• Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally walking, bending, and lifting items up to 50lbs.

3.1 Environmental Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously exposed to a moderate noise level produced by operating machines and equipment. The employee is continuously exposed to minimal to moderate noise levels in the work environment. The employee may be infrequently exposed to hazardous and non-caustic chemicals or solutions. Bodypoint provides appropriate PPE for working conditions and environment.
