We are looking for a part-time RN to join our team. TBD Health is a hybrid care platform that specializes in sexual healthcare. We are looking for a strong practitioner who deeply believes in shared decision-making, treating every patient with respect and practicing inclusive care that celebrates sex and sexual health. The role of the Clinic RN is to enhance the clinical services provided to the clients of TBD Health with the aim of: - Improving healthcare outcomes for all clients regardless of race, age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual preferences, or past histories of sexually transmitted infections
- Providing compassionate services for LGBTQIA+ and gender conforming or non-conforming clients in a culturally safe, competent, and judgement-free environment.
- Accepting of all sexual beliefs and practices by setting aside one’s own bias to provide the most effective and patient-centered care that our clients have come to expect at TBD.
Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with lab, IT, management, co-workers through email, phone, text to improve workflow and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Communicate and coordinate with office manager on ordering and maintaining inventory of all needed lab and clinic supplies.
- Monitor and maintain lab equipment such as: centrifuge, maintain accurate fridge temperature logs, monitoring/removal of expired supplies, etc.
- Assist provider with physical exams as needed
- Process samples according to established lab and clinic protocols
- Chart in a timely and concise manner. Use electronic medication records, available portals and other data bases to provide accurate documentation of patient encounters
- Prepare clients for sexual history assessment questions and testing procedures. Provide emotional support throughout the visit and ensure clients know we are available after their visit for questions
- Ability to discuss sensitive topics such as sexual health, sexual preferences, practices and taking a detailed sexual history, etc. in a non-biased and productive way using open-ended and affirming language that allows patients to tell their own history
- Educate clients on safe sex practices, birth control options, erectile dysfunction, sex coaching and other sexual health services provided by TBD
- Ability to multi-task and potentially see multiple patients at a time while maintaining a professional, but outgoing, friendly and welcoming attitude during often stressful times
- Identify and respond to side effects to an IM injection.
- Maintain patient safety during vasovagal/syncopal events that can occur with venipunctures
- Comply with and maintain education on current CDC guidelines and recommendations for routine STI testing
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all clients, and act according to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines
Registered Nurse Requirements and Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Colorado
- 2+ years nursing experience in a healthcare related field preferred
- BLS minimum certification
- Phlebotomy/IV experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in working off provider protocols is a plus
