About the Company

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Industrial Engineer to join our warehouse operations team. In this role, you will analyze, design, and implement processes to optimize labor planning, maximize productivity, and improve overall warehouse efficiency. You will work closely with warehouse managers and the operations team to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and contribute to cost reduction. Your expertise in process improvement, lean principles, and data analytics will be crucial in driving labor optimization and achieving our operational goals.

In this role, you will analyze, design, and implement processes to optimize labor planning, maximize productivity, and improve overall warehouse efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Labor Planning & Optimization :
  • Design and implement efficient labor strategies based on demand forecasting and historical data.
  • Collaborate with management to optimize workforce utilization, ensuring that staffing levels match workload fluctuations.
  • Develop and manage labor standards to improve task execution and reduce overstaffing or understaffing.
  • Implement labor scheduling and forecasting tools to ensure the right resources are allocated at the right times.
  • Process Improvement :
  • Identify and analyze bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the warehouse to develop corrective actions.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency (using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies).
  • Conduct time and motion studies to analyze work processes and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Productivity Monitoring :
  • Establish systems to monitor and track key productivity metrics across the warehouse, including labor efficiency, throughput, and resource allocation.
  • Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, labor utilization, and efficiency improvements.
  • Cost Reduction & Savings Analysis :
  • Analyze the impact of labor optimization on overall operational costs, including labor hours, overtime, and productivity metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, technology integration, or process redesigns that will contribute to cost savings.
  • Develop models to quantify potential savings from labor improvements and present them to senior management.
  • Training & Development :
  • Train warehouse teams on process improvements, new workflows, and optimized labor practices.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to labor planning and productivity tracking.
  • Collaboration & Reporting :
  • Work closely with warehouse managers, HR, and other departments to ensure alignment on labor planning goals and performance objectives.
  • Regularly update leadership on project progress, labor savings, and key performance improvements.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in warehouse operations or supply chain management (preferably in a large-scale distribution center).
    • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and process improvement techniques.
    • Experience with labor management systems, forecasting tools, and time-motion studies.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
