The Role:
The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Collaborates and works closely with Operations, Facilities, Engineering and Risk Management.

Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):

  • Develops, leads, and executes strategies for the facility's safety, health, and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership to build sustainable EHS capabilities.
  • Manage compliance with federal and state general industry safety programs.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance with all environmental permits.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate investigations of EHS incidents, injuries, and near-miss events. Drive improvements in processes, procedures, and/or operations to minimize hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Design, prepare, and administer emergency or disaster preparedness training to ensure employees know how to effectively respond to major emergency crises and disasters.
  • Prepares and leads training to cover workplace safety and other relevant topics.
  • Establish and maintain all aspects of contractor safety training and tool safety sign off programs.
  • Establish Emergency Response Team for 24x7 coverage.
  • Assess ergonomic risk throughout the company value stream and implement strategic actions for improvement
  • Acts as the technical lead for all aspects of industrial hygiene, occupational health, chemical management, and waste management.
  • Ensures safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Initiate, establish, and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external clients by communicating and influencing effectively at multiple levels of the organization to achieve results.
  • Manage employee performance utilizing performance management tools. Ensure that all departmental staff are effectively aligned to organizational performance metrics.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

You bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
    ASP, GSP, ASM, or CSP.
  • 5+ years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment including chemical and wastewater.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Experience as a member/leader of Emergency Response Team.
  • Deductive reasoning, strong analytical, problem-solving process development, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and relationship- building skills to effectively work, with a variety of people and personalities; able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization in person and in writing including training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections. ( i.e.: Biofuel Analyzers, Balances, Stability Cambers, PH meters).
  • GC Instruments and Elemental Analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Language skills: English.


A Plus:

  • Master's degree
  • Professional experience ideally in solar, semiconductor, automotive industry, and or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience supporting a 24X7 production environment.
  • Bilingual / Spanish.
