Responsibilities

Simon and Schuster is looking for an Editorial Assistant for Atria/Emily Bestler Books. Reporting to Editor-in-Chief Emily Bestler, the responsibilities include:

• reviewing manuscripts
• general administrative duties
• communicating with authors and agents by phone and email
• drafting sales copy
• organizing schedules and meetings
• expense tracking.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be reliable, friendly, organized, and flexible.
• Be able to work independently, confidentially, and professionally in a fast-paced office environment.
• Possess strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as internet and social media skills.
• Possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong familiarity and passion for commercial fiction, including thrillers, rom-com, horror and psychological suspense.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills and an attention to detail and deadlines are necessary.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
