Job Description

The Center for Responsible and Effective AI Technology Enhancement of Treatments for PTSD (CREATE) at Stanford is seeking an enthusiastic full-time research coordinator to help coordinate research projects using large language models to support psychotherapy. The CREATE Center is developing AI tools to improve the deployment and dissemination of cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) for PTSD and other mental disorders. This role is ideal for someone seeking experience in research-related project management and administration , and who is a skilled, efficient writer and quick, effective communicator. The ideal candidate is interested in research and plans to pursue a PhD (or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology or a related field (with an emphasis on research, rather than clinical practice). For highly motivated candidates, this position may offer the opportunity to co-author publications in relevant fields (e.g., psychology, public health, or computer science) – a valuable component of applications to graduate school. Because this role coordinates and collaborates with researchers from different fields and institutions, excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism are especially valued, as is prior experience in industry and project management. Manage and assist with the various administrative aspects of the research process in close coordination with supervisor and multiple PIs. Contribute to a friendly, collaborative, and hard-working culture. 1) Administrative Duties (70%): ● Coordinating meetings and schedules, quickly and efficiently ● Assisting the PIs with tracking and prioritizing projects ● Writing and overseeing IRB protocols ● Assisting with hiring and recruitment ● Coordinate and run in-person events (conferences, meetings, etc.) ● Assist with marketing (social media, Center website, webinars) 2) Research Assistance (30%): ● Conducting literature reviews ● Assisting with research participant recruitment and scheduling ● Coordinate participant engagement, study visits, and completion of research surveys/questionnaires. ● Managing academic citations ● Creating and managing RedCap databases ● Coding data ● Cleaning data ● Writing assistance on grants and scientific publications * - Other duties may also be assigned DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, public health, economics, computer science, communications, linguistics, or a related field ● Interest in research questions in the social sciences ● Interest in writing journal publications (or conference publications) ● Team spirit, collegiality, interpersonally warm ● High conscientiousness/attention to detail and execution speed ● Previous industry or research assistant/coordinator experience ● Coursework or other exposure to psychopathology or evidence-based treatments ● Excellent communication, attention to detail, management, and administrative skills ● Some training in the social sciences and experience with scientific writing ● General knowledge of scientific research methods, basic statistics, and some familiarity with reading research papers ● Academic or research exposure to cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) ● Experience as a research assistant in psychiatry or psychology lab ● Experience using data analysis programs (e.g., R) ● Knowledge of Python (including Pandas and NumPy) ● Basic knowledge of software engineering principles (incl. SQL, GIT, Linux shell) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): Two year college degree and two years related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED): ● Strong interpersonal skills. ● Proficiency with Microsoft Office. ● Knowledge of medical terminology. CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES: Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification is preferred.
