When you join PPGNY as the Director of Centralized Follow-Up (CFU) you will lead the centralized follow-up department under the direct supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer. The CFU Director is responsible for supervising the CFU staff including clinicians, nurses, and non-licensed staff working in the office and remotely.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Ensure timely and appropriate processing, review, and notification of lab results and associated reporting to oversight agencies.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate processing, review, and notification of referral results.
  • Optimize use of Care Path reports to monitor abnormal results follow-up; optimizes use of flags (alert) systems to ensure timely patient follow-up for abnormal lab results, serum hCG levels, medication abortion, referrals, etc.
  • Provide direct oversight and management of incoming patient calls, My Chart (patient portal) messages, refill requests, electronic medication errors; medication cancellations errors, and refill errors.
  • Oversee prior authorization processes for pharmacy/medication management.
  • Maintain systems to track and report outcomes and trends related to centralized follow up.
  • Work closely with outside laboratories and Director of Clinical Coordination to manage overdue results.
  • Work closely with Medical Records team to facilitate follow up activities.
  • Provide follow-up services and assists members of the CFU Department to perform follow-up tasks to ensure that productivity, quality, and customer service standards are met.
  • Oversee patient referrals to other healthcare centers. Establish and maintains referral agreements for all PPGNY locations
  • Maintain CFU department schedule, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Responsible for hiring and managing all CFU staff; provides opportunities for growth and development.
  • ·Recommend, develop, and implement departmental work plans related to daily CFU department workflows.
You have:
  • Graduate of Accredited registered nursing program, masters preferred, or
  • Accredited Bachelor/Master’s approved program in one of the following: Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery, or Certified Midwifery; Master's preferred with appropriate board or national certifications
  • Previous experience leading a high volume, fast paced centralized lab management team
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience with 5 or more direct reports
  • Active NY State licensure as a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Certified Midwife

$135,000 - $165,000 a year
