Position Title Anthropology Temporary Pool Department College of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences – Anthropology, Sociology, Criminal Justice & Social Work Description The role is a part‑time faculty appointment within the Anthropology Program, part of the Department of Anthropology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology. The position is temporary and may be full‑time for one semester, part‑time for one semester, or part‑time for an academic year, as needs arise. The appointment location is multi‑campus within Commonwealth University, with the expectation of teaching at Bloomsburg University, Lock Haven University, or Mansfield University. Responsibilities Teach introductory and/or upper‑level courses in required sub‑fields of Archaeology, Biological, and Cultural Anthropology. Contribute to the program’s academic calendar and course catalog as requested by the department. Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and departmental service activities as needed. Engage with students and other campus communities, demonstrating ability to work with diverse populations. Complete all required background clearances (PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance) and documentation prior to commencement of duties. Qualifications Minimum: Master’s degree in Anthropology. Preferred: ABD or Ph.D. in Anthropology or an equivalent discipline. Qualified to teach in-person and online (distance education) formats. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness; student evaluations preferred. Strong communication skills and collaborative teaching experience. Proficiency in working with diverse student populations. Recommendation from a majority of the regular, full‑time department faculty. Benefits Medical and prescription drug benefits.
